I was really pushing the food limit envelope by mid afternoon....our Elegant Tea at Muranos was a temping venue for sweet and savory bites. Thank goodness, they kept the selections to a minimum. No over indulging for me...I mean really folks, it had only been a few hours since my last meal...you do remember my second lunch of the day...but who's counting.
Only three small bites...I was being a very good girl
We were treated to an interesting spectacle right outside the window of Muranos...Mount Stromboli chose to erupt just as the cruise ship was sailing by...how lucky for us!
It was almost as if the volcano erupted on cue...hmmm, wonder if some Disney animators are behind this?
We could not have been in a better location to capture the action
Probably a good thing no one was on any volcano excursions that day
Wow, that does not happen everyday!
We managed to stop by Rhonda's future cruise chat after cocktail hour and before meeting up for a pre-dinner Martini with friends.
The guys in some kind of 007 pose, at least that is what they were trying to do
A chocolate martini was quickly becoming a nightly ritual...probably a good thing the cruise was slowly coming to an end
Soon it was off to join our table mates for dinner in the dining room. After our very long day of eating...we called it a night, but not before stopping in to see Chandru and Rhonda at Michael's Club and listening to the excellent piano player. We had been trying to convince Chandru to spend a day with us in at least one port before the cruise was over. We know he is always extremely busy, so we were not quite sure if he would be able to take time away from his work day to visit Rome. Much to our surprise, he phoned us as we arrived back in our cabin to say he'd be joining us in Rome after all....we could not have been happier.
Next up...our first glimpse of the eternal city
